Halloween Parade

Thanks for all the support of Red Ribbon Week. It is going great! Just a reminder that our Halloween festivities will be on Monday. There are many classes that will need volunteers and/or donations to make the parties for each class successful. Contact your child's room mom to see how you can help.

Parents and children are welcome to come in costume! No masks or clown costumes for adults and no weapons or anything that resembles a weapon for anyone. The parade will be outside on the west side of the school. No seating will be provided so feel free to bring a camp chair. The parade route will be marked. We ask that you not move the chairs we use to outline the route for the kids. The class parties will be directly after the parade is over and will conclude at the end of the school day. Family Night at Zupas

TONIGHT is Family Night at Cafe Zupas. If you are going to eat out tonight pick Cafe Zupas at Quarry Bend. Remember to mention to your cashier that you are supporting Silver Mesa Elementary. They will send us a % of $$ brought in to the restaurant by Silver Mesa Supporters between the hours of 5-9. Enjoy your night of no dishes!!

Reflections

What's your story? Our reflections theme this year is a great one, and we're excited to see everything our students create! Our reflections due date is Tuesday, October 25.  Find out more at www.pta.org/reflections  Like last year all students who enter will receive a prize and could even win a trophy! All work will be displayed later in the year.  Also, we are looking for non-parent judges.  Some artist expertise is preferred, but not required.  If you know anyone who would be willing to donate a small amount of time to judge entries for dance, film, literature, music, photography, or visual works, please contact Lindsey Christiansen at lindseyfae@gmail.com

Calling all Super Heroes!

Thank you for all the donations to the fundraiser so far.  We’re almost there…..but we still need more help.

If you see it at your school and it’s not in the official state curriculum….it’s funded by the PTA.  From paper and toner for the copy room to Red Ribbon Week and Class Parties. We fund NOVA for the 5th graders and Junior Achievement lessons for everyone.  How do we get our funds you ask?  From the amazing community here at Silver Mesa.  We have

some great business support, but the majority of our funds come from you!  Please take a few minutes, before Friday the 14th, to write out a check to Silver Mesa PTA and help us meet our goal and continue offering all the

programs you love!
